A morning meditation on God

Sometimes I think we as Christians forget that we serve a BIG, MIGHTY, and POWERFUL God! Who is also oh so Holy, sovereign, and just! It blows my mind that God, tho so big and strong, is actually truly gentle in His touch. He could completely crush us if He wanted to (and he shows this when He crushed His own Son) but no, He reaches in gently and quietly as to not startle us. He is so faithful and loving. I am so blessed that He is a God of grace and Mercy, and that I get to call him MY Father, MY God, MY Savior, MY Deliverer, MY Helper, MY Lord, MY Refuge, MY Rock! 
I have noticed myself to be very much like a child when I can see My Father at work in my life or even MORE so when I see Him at work in other people’s lives! Because I get so excited and filled so much that I feel I am about to just burst!! (I guess that’s why Moses had to hide in the clef of the rock because if he saw all of God’s glory he WOULD burst!!) There is truly a peace beyond all understanding and a calmness of heart that God gives when in times of trouble. BUT I have found that it comes with such a massive amount of grace! With all that is happening right now, I am truly, and can confidently say I am at peace! It is when we are at peace and standing empty handed before God, clinging to Him for dear life, putting EVERY ounce of faith that we can in Him, that all of these troubles become so small. They become small because we finally realize the goodness of God and that HE truly knows what He is doing. When He does things in our lives He doesn’t just do them to reach you…he does them because along with you He is reaching others just as with the Cross. And just as with the Cross everything seemed so hopeless! It was so hopeless that He DIED and was BURIED then BAM He rises from the dead! We must keep faith! We must not lose hope! Because just like with every summer storm the sun always comes back out! 
 
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” ~Philippians 4:4-9

The Will

The Will of God and the Will of the flesh are distinctively TWO different Will’s. The only common ground they share is the submission of the Will of Man. When Christ enters the heart of person, the Will of Man begins to turn away from things that are in correspondence to the Will of the Flesh and will walk in correlation and submission to the Will of God. The Will of Man will turn into the Will of God.(Meaning God’s will is now Man’s will) That is merely because the Man’s spirit and heart have become the home of Christ, they have died to the flesh and have become alive to the Spirit and now breath out Christ, all good that comes out of them is surly the work of Christ within and also living through them. Remarkable!

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares The Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” ~Isaiah 55:8-9

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” ~Romans 8:5-6

Welcoming Obama!

When it comes to President Obama, I feel like I keep hearing God tell me, “Remember Saul/Paul, remember who he was as Saul and who he became after I entered his heart.” This ALONE makes me come to the realization that God is doing something in which we absolutely CANNOT see, right now. I believe we have got to remember this is GOD’s show, not Obama’s nor is it ours. I can confidently say, God is going to do something over the next four years that will blow our minds and literally have many of us bowing down in awe of His power, glory, steadfast love, and faithfulness. I may not have wanted Obama as President BUT now I welcome him, and to be honest we all need to as well. He as President again is at the work of the Almighty God’s hands and we HAVE to welcome it! We need to remember at the end of the day God is higher and more powerful than our President, our Congress, and ourselves. Also, keep in mind as these days are progressively becoming harder, the KING is coming! Remain focused on the coming City and not the city of now, which will pass away.

Here are some challenges I would like to give to you all:

  • PRAY: Pray for Obama, Pray for his wife and his little girls. Pray Ephesians 3:14-19 over this family. Pray for strength and wisdom for Obama and even those in Congress as they make decisions for our Country, that the decisions made are in line with the Will of the Lord. Pray that the Holy Spirit will dwell with them and engulf the White House and the Capital making His presence known!
  • HAVE HEART: When you pray for them, MEAN IT! Do not pray for them just to pray for them! Have a heart for them! Even if this does not change this family or those in Congress, it WILL change you. (Luke 6:32,35-36…that whole passage there is also a good one to live by in general)
  • DON’T stop praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
  • REMEMBER: Keep in mind the Will of the Lord may not always be what you wanted. His ways are not our ways but they are ALWAYS GOOD! So, trust in the Lord as President Obama and Congress are making decisions, even if they are not right. Remembering also that the Lord is looking out for you and He will not let evil overtake His children! (Isaiah 55:8-9, Romans 8:28, Psalms 145)
  • RESPECT: Most Importantly RESPECT Obama! You may not agree with the man BUT he is our President and was placed in his leadership position by the ordained will of the Lord, making it a MUST to respect him.  (Romans 13:1-7)
